School. Kouritenga. BURKINA FASO. Project 2018
The set is arranged in a square perimeter made of local bricks. This perimeter presents a generalised and simple image while at the same time it is perforated by different diamond-shaped holes, giving the building an almost textile aspect.
In this way the center can be closed easily and the interior can be controlled.
Once inside, the complex is articulated with simple volumes covered with sheet metal roofs, and longitudinal patios decorated with local vegetation.
The distribution of the different venues is done in a very functional way, to allow future modification, if needed.
All the materials are mostly of local origin, except some imported elements, which have a low cost and easy transport.
