Single-family Housing. Riyadh. SAUDI ARABIA. Under construction 2018-
This house is formed from four different connections, or ‘four bridges’. The client’s need to have two houses connected with access from two different streets allowed us to work with the connecting elements.
These are developed on four different levels. The first one is an excavated level, which houses a water line that indicates the division of the property into two connected volumes. The second level takes the form of a glass bridge, that crosses the lower space. The third level is formed as an open garden and a cover of the previous bridge and the last one is an union between the two, previously raised, volumes, that has its floor perforated, allowing the natural light to enter inside.
The geometry is completed with the addition of white stucco skins, plagued in the areas of opening to the outside. These openings are completed with lattices that help to mitigate the light, that the region has, and provide privacy in the whole project.
