School. Bougouriba. BURKINA FASO. Project 2018
The set is arranged from a set of orthogonal enclosures, framed in a circular concrete perimeter as a cover / pergola. All rooms are made of local bricks and have different heights, depending on the lower volume, presenting a very dynamic exterior image. All the boxes are crowned with gabled sheet metal covers as if they were birds perched on the set. Between the boxes are longitudinal patios that communicate with the outside through metal lattices. In this way the center can be closed very easily and the interior can be controlled.
The distribution of the different venues is done in a very functional way, to allow future modification, if needed.
All the materials are mostly of local origin, except imported elements, which have a low cost and easy transport.
