Public Building. Albacete. SPAIN. Built 2006
AWARDS: 1st Prize
The aim was to create an internal space to replace the street as a place of exchange. It was decided to demolish the central bay of the building in which stairs and rooms caused a feeling of utter chaos and made it extremely difficult to reconcile with the idea of space integration.
Replacing the central bay, a large core of communications is built which gives the complex an institutional presence and allows for a healthy coexistence between the different parts of the complex.
The second part of the proposal was to create a sense of unity between the elder and younger people in the building.
